The largest by-election window since the 2016 Local Government Elections is taking place across South Africa on Wednesday, according to the Independent Electoral Commission.
Twenty-seven municipal ward by-elections will be held in eight provinces on Wednesday. The by-elections will be contested by 105 candidates from 15 political parties and five independent candidates.
The Independent Electoral Commission has completed its two day public hearings in Cape Town on the draft regulations of the Political Party Funding legislation.
It is not clear at this stage who will replace National Freedom Party leader Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi in the National Assembly after her resignation.
GOOD party leader, Patricia de Lille, says she will continue to pursue cases against those who she believes have publicly smeared her name.
