Brazil and several other Latin American countries have informed the World Health Organisation (WHO) they need more time to sign up for its global COVID-19 vaccine allocation plan known as COVAX, officials said on Thursday.
Brazil registered 874 novel coronavirus deaths over the last 24 hours and 43 718 additional cases, the nation’s health ministry said on Friday.
The number of coronavirus cases across the globe has surpassed 28-million since the start of the outbreak.
Brazil’s acting Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello said on Tuesday that a COVID-19 vaccine would be rolled out for all Brazilians in January 2021.
Brazil recorded 10 273 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as well as 310 deaths from the disease, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
