North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo has abandoned his resignation and says it is now up to the Provincial Executive Committee in the province to decide his fate.

On Tuesday, Mahumapelo announced his intention to resign and was supposed to hold a media briefing on Wednesday morning to officially announce his resignation.

Speaking in Mahikeng, surrounded by ANC supporters and the media, following his meeting with the PEC, Mahumapelo says he did not consult the PEC before announcing his intentions.

“So we must wait for the PEC and as soon as the PEC is done, not me, they themselves will pronounce what is their decision. Remember the resignation was done without first talking to the structures. So, they are feeling a bit aggrieved that we have done that without talking to them,” adds Mahumapelo.
