The ANC NEC has disbanded the Western Cape Provincial Executive Committee, after expressing concerns on the functioning of the provincial leadership.
The eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede has agreed to take leave of absence after the African National Congress (ANC) Provincial Executive Committee requested her to do so.
Over the past week, once the festivities of the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa on Africa Day, the premiers of the country’s nine provinces had to hastily move to announce their respective executive committee members.
The challenges facing the ANC in the North West, seems to be deepening as both the recently reinstated Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and the Provincial Task Team (PTT), seem to be claiming legitimacy in running the affairs of the party in the province.
The ANC’s Rapid Response Team is expected in the North West this weekend to meet the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) which was disbanded by the National Executive Committee (NEC) in 2018, and the Provincial Task Team (PTT).
