The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it has enough evidence to get a conviction in the case of African National Congress (ANC)  member and former MEC who has been accused of rape.

The suspect appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Monday along with his stepson who is also accused of raping the girls.

The case was postponed to Thursday.

The NPA says it will oppose the bail application of the suspects.

It also says they have been investigating this matter since July.

The lawyers for the two men say the pair have denied the charges.

The accused’s legal representatives say they will try and ensure that the accused get bail on Thursday.
