Struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni celebrated his 93rd birthday at a party on Wednesday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged South Africans to celebrate the lives of apartheid struggle icons for their contribution to ushering the country into democracy.

Ramaphosa was addressing guests at struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni‘s 93rd birthday party in Sandton, Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The President Ramaphosa has thanked the Mlangeni family for allowing African National Congress (ANC) veteran to serve the nation.

“It is people like comrade Andrew Mlangeni, who with comrade Nelson Mandela, stood in prison, and said this is a cause that I am even prepared to die for, for the cause that finally brought our freedom.”

“We should thank comrade Mlangeni for his life – and thank him for what he means to us, and thank him for what he has done… and we want to thank his family for having donated him to the nation,” added Ramaphosa.
