Manyi backtracks on recusal request

Mzwanele Manyi is continuing to give his evidence to the commission, in Parktown in Johannesburg.

Former GCIS head, Mzwanele Manyi has indicated that he will no longer be applying to the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, requesting for Advocate Vincent Maleka to recuse himself from cross examining him.

He has since asked the commission to allow Maleka to continue with his line of questioning.

This was announced by the commission’s legal head adv Paul Pretorious.

Manyi had complained to the commission, over the manner in which Maleka has been leading his evidence.

He is continuing to give his evidence to the to the commission , in Parktown in Johannesburg. The former GCIS CEO is currently facing questions before the commission’s legal team seeking clarification on his earlier testimony during his tenure at government communications from 2011 until 2012.
