A 16 year old Limpopo girl has been raped by an alleged fake prophet at Dzwerani village, outside Thohoyandou.
Police spokesperson colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspect allegedly lured her to the church with the promise of providing divine intervention.
Ngoepe says police are looking for the suspect who is known in the community.
He says police would like to caution women to be aware of unscrupulous individuals calling themselves prophets who are out to terrorize communities.
He has asked that anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect to please contact Major General Rosina Mulaudzi at 082 451 7217.
