Thousands of residents at Leopard Park and nearby areas in Mahikeng in the North West have been left in the dark since last night after cable theft caused a power outage.
Eskom spokesperson in the province Ezekiel Baruti says the power utility has mobilized their technical teams to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
“Eskom would like to inform the residents of Leopard Park in Mahikeng about the outage in their area. This unplanned outage was caused by the theft of cables that happened last night. The outage is affecting the following areas: Leopard Park, Signal Hill, The Crossing, and the industrial area. Eskom is busy trying to restore the supply; unfortunately, at this point, we are unable to give customers an estimated restoration time.
