Reading Time: < 1 minute

Judgment is expected to be delivered in the High Court sitting at Palm Ridge in Ekurhuleni in the case against Sifiso Mkhwanazi, accused of the murder of sex workers.

The 22-year-old admitted to his father about killing six sex workers but denied the murders were premeditated.

He also denied the rape and defeating the ends of justice charges against him.

The state argued that Mkhwanazi lured the sex workers under false pretenses and promised to pay them for their services.

Instead, he allegedly raped and killed them. The victims were bound, gagged, and strangled to death.

The murders took place between April and October 2022.

Mkhwanazi’s lawyer,  Vuyo Maqetuka, argued that the accused killed the sex workers out of anger after they allegedly raised the prices they had agreed upon.
