JHB licensing centers to get a face lift

Johannesburg residents can expect upgraded and revamped motor vehicle licensing centres, which is part of the city’s efforts to stamp out corruption and improve service delivery and customer experiences.

The city’s Public Safety MMC Michael Sun says this will include extending operating hours to include Saturdays.

Sun says the improvements come after multiple complaints from the public about poor service delivery at the city’s licensing departments.

“We’ve gone out and identified the issues we need to address and I think our customers can expect in the months to come a few new and improved customer service experiences within our centers. And I think most of all that we really needed to identify and target those fraud and corrupt activities that we’ve been hearing about licensing centers,” said Sun.

Our one major aim is to eradicate corruption within licensing centers, he added.
