The Gauteng Department of Education says phase two of the online applications for grades one and eight will open on Monday, 13 September 2021.
Phase two will be for parents and guardians with children going to Grade one or eight in the 2022 academic year, but are currently not in a public school in Gauteng.
Parents and guardians are urged to upload all relevant documents onto the system or submit them at the school they applied to within seven days of their application.
Spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Education, Steve Mabona says over 40 000 applicants could not apply on time during phase one.
“After realising we have recorded over 40 000 applications who could not apply on time during phase one, we have decided as a department that those parents will also be allowed to apply during phase two. What you require as a parent is that you just access the system and you create your profile and you will be in a position to apply. We will not require you to verify as we did in phase one.”
