Gauteng parents have until midnight to apply online for grade 8 and 1’s for the 2019 academic year. Documents can still be handed in at schools until the 6th of June.
The rush is on to complete 2019 applications, for parents keen to get the paper work done.
Since the opening of admissions over 500 000 applications have been received.
The department is urging parents not to miss the June 5 deadline for documents.
Schools require an unabridged birth certificate, proof of employment when applying with a work address, proof of residence and a copy of the parents’ ID.
The latest grade 7 school report for grade 8 applicants and immunisation cards for those applying for grade one.
Some schools require that documents be certified and an ID photo of the pupil.
