The state’s first witness in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Zandile Khumalo has broken down in tears while testifying in the High Court in Pretoria on Wednesday.
Khumalo became emotional as she described how she noticed Meyiwa’s fever dropping as they approached the hospital.
The soccer star was shot and killed at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo mother’s home in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.
Advocate George Baloyi asked for a short adjournment when Khumalo started crying.
Khumalo: “I lifted his t shirt and touched him on the stomach and felt that the temp is no longer the same. When I touched him in his face, he was now cold in the stomach.”
Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng: “Mam if you need any comfort break at any point just say so…”; “Are you okay mam? Let’s adjourn for five minutes.”
