ANC national executive member, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has reminded students at the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein about the importance of participating in next week’s general elections.

Dlamini-Zuma says it is only through the casting of ballots that a new government can be given a fresh mandate.

She says the ANC remains the leader of the society who is determined to address socio-economic challenges such as poverty, unemployment and inequality.

She says the ANC is very mindful of jobs because it is through jobs, through education and skills that the country can tackle the issue of poverty and inequality.

She says: “President Mandela himself said as long as there is poverty, there is no freedom. That is why I say the revolution is still ongoing, the struggle continues.”

“Until we deal with inequality and poverty, we can’t really say the revolution is over.”
