The High Court sitting in Palm Ridge has heard of how accused No.: 3 in the Nathaniel Julies murder trial, Voster Netshiongolwe, went to the scene and asked questions the night Julies was killed.

The 16-year-old Eldorado Park boy was shot and killed in August last year allegedly by the police and three officers stand trial for their alleged involvement in the murder.

State witness Meghan Brown has told the court that Netshiongolwe approached her and asked to be shown the crime scene and he asked her a number of questions.

Brown has testified that accused Netshiongolwe had asked her for details of the crime. Brown told the court that she knew accused three from a previous murder case he was investigating of her boyfriend that was shot dead.

“We were standing then a green Polo Classic pulled up in front of me. Then Voster came out of the Polo and asked what was going on. I told him that a little boy was shot. He told me he heard of the incident and when he heard of Hillbrow flat he thought of me and that’s why he came that way. I then told him a scene like this should be taped up. He agreed and told me he was not on duty and if he was on duty he would have done that.”

Nathaniel Julies’ post mortem found a staggering 189 pellets in the lifeless body:

One of the charges Netshiongolwe faces includes that of defeating the ends of justice, for allegedly tempering with the crime scene. Brown testified that she took pictures of bloodied finger markings on a stationary truck which she believes could be of Julies.

“I took the very same phone I was making light with then took pictures. They said he (Nathaniel) was shot there.”

Two more state witnesses, police officer, Moses Mabasa and Lieutenant Colonel Lesley Rajbelly were also on the stand. The trial will continue on Tuesday.
