ANC calls for discipline ahead of elective conference

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The African National Congress has ordered delegates attending the party’s 54th national elective conference at Nasrec in Johannesburg to be disciplined.

The governing party will elect new leaders at conference which will start tomorrow.

Kodwa says whether Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma or Cyril Ramaphosa is elected ANC president, delegates should remain orderly.

“We’ve got absolute commitment from the delegates, should anybody for whatever reason come here to disrupt the conference I can only give them and wish them well. We are not going to allow any ill-discipline and disruption. Anyone who tries something will be taken out of the conference without touching the ground and will disqualify you as a delegate to this conference forever and we will subject you to any disciplinary action which we think is good for this organisation.
