The ANC has accused former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter of attempting to taint the party’s image ahead of the 2024 national elections after he appeared before the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) to discuss corruption allegations.

De Ruyter appears before SCOPA:

De Ruyter previously said senior government officials were involved in syndicates at the SOE.

However, the former Eskom CEO declined to mention the names of ANC politicians citing legal concerns. The party says De Ruyter’s claims and investigation into corruption by its leaders are unfounded and lamented what is says was his lack of transparency before SCOPA.
