A former police officer has been arrested for allegedly raping two minors in Noupoort, in the Northern Cape.
The 47-year-old man allegedly raped the girls, aged five and 13, while they played in his yard.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba says the victims are known to the suspect and he will appear in the Noupoort Magistrate’s Court on January 14, 2020.
Ramatseba says, “The police have arrested a 47-year-old male suspect in connection with the rape of two girls – aged 5 and 13 – the incident was reported on the 4th of January at the house of the suspect…The suspect was a warrant officer in the police and resigned from the police more than 10 years ago.”
