One of the five policemen killed in the Ngcobo police station attack, Warrant Officer Zuko Mbin, will be laid to rest at Zimbane Administrative Area outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape on Friday.

The 46 year-old was among the five police officers and a soldier who were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Ngcobo on Wednesday last week. Six suspects, including a leader of the Mancoba Seven Angels Ministries, have appeared in court this week in connection with the attack.

On Friday last week, seven men died in a gun battle with police at the church. Scores of mourners, including the men and women in blue are expected to attend the funeral service at Zimbane Administrative Area outside Mthatha.

Forty six year-old Warrant Officer Zuko Mbini died in the line of duty along with four other officers and a soldier in Ngcobo, when a group of gunmen stormed a local police station and opened fire randomly, killing three officers instantly.

Two other officers were hijacked and later shot dead. Their bodies were found a few kilometres outside town with gunshot wounds. Two other officers, Kuhle Mateta and Zuko Ntsheku will also be buried this weekend in Cofimvaba and Ngcobo respectively. Two other officers will be laid next weekend.
