The African National Congress (ANC) says its list of national and provincial legislature candidates may include some of those implicated in the State Capture Commission report.

ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri has confirmed that members who have been cleared by the party’s internal processes are included in its list.

The ANC will only make public its candidates list on Monday.

Addressing the media yesterday, Bhengu-Motsiri said: “In terms of those names fingered in the integrity commission and the NEC cleared those comrades you would find them in our lists. They would have gone through a vetting process which was run by an independent company.”

“They would have been vetted in terms of a number of elements in terms of the vetting, but a whole lot of details. You would be having the list by then on Monday and you’d be able to ventilate specific individuals when the SG and President Montlhanthe appears.”
