Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan says the deadline for the unbundling of Eskom is March 31, 2020.
He says Eskom will be divided into three entities namely generation, transmission and distribution which will be subsidiaries that will fall under Eskom holdings.
Gordhan says clusters will be created on the generation side of the business, to enable greater competition which will help to bring down the cost of electricity.
He was presenting a detailed and comprehensive road map on Eskom in Pretoria.
