Reading Time: < 1 minute

The state’s first witness in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Zandile Khumalo took the stand at the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

Khumalo is giving her version of events on the night Meyiwa was shot and killed at his then girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s house in Vosloorus East of Johannesburg almost 9-years ago.

The trial had to be started from scratch following the suspension of the previous presiding judge. A new Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng has been appointed to preside over the trial.

Five men standing trial for the murder of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates football star, have pleaded not guilty to all the charges against them.

State prosecutor, George Baloyi is leading Khumalo’s evidence.
