As the nation awaits President Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament on Thursday, the state of the economy is without a doubt a major concern for many.

Unemployment stands stubbornly at 29.1 %, and state-owned companies seem to continue their downward spiral.

Dr Sithembile Mbete, political analyst and Senior Lecturer from the Department of Political Science at the University of Pretoria, and Professor Peter Baur, from the Economics Department at the University of Johannesburg, join the discussion on President Ramaphosa’s previous SONA’s and what to expect in the 2020 State of the Nation Address.
