The former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender has signed a short-term deal with the Durban side until the end of the season on November 8.

AmaZulu FC coach Jozef Vukušič has hailed the professionalism of new signing Tsepo Masilela following his move to the club earlier this month.

The former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender has signed a short-term deal with the Durban side until the end of the season.

Having been without a club for more than a season, he had been on trial with Usuthu for several weeks, before finally being given the green light.

The 34-year-old made his debut off the bench in their last match before the current FIFA break, with coach Vukusic praising his attitude.

Usuthu lost that last Absa Premiership encounter going down 2-0 at home to Chippa, with Vukusic admitting that it left them with plenty of work still to do before Christmas.

The loss sucked them right back into the relegation scrap as the season slowly edges towards halfway.

The tight nature of the league this season means that the Durbanites could have climbed as high as sixth had they beaten the Chilli Boys, but instead, they are now second last, with a clash against champions Mamelodi Sundowns looming. Vukusic is not happy with their progress.

AmaZulu were bidding to make it four wins from four matches when they hosted Chippa in KwaMashu on the 9th of November. Instead, they lost a very winnable game and remained on their current total of 11 points from 11 matches, and the same number of points behind Bidvest Wits in fifth place.

Vukusic insists he does not have any target to achieve between now and the Christmas break, adding that just getting points will be enough to please him. – Report by Thahir Asmal
