Victims of ANC bus crash to be remembered in Limpopo

The memorial service for five African National Congress (ANC) members who died in a bus crash will be held on Thursday in Botlokwa, outside Polokwane, Limpopo.

Mashao Setabola, Mosima Makganyoga, Mapula Rakubu, Magret Rakubu and Manti Mafomo were killed when the bus they were travelling in lost control and overturned in Makgobaskloof on the R71 outside Tzaneen on Saturday morning.

Several others were injured. Eleven injured remain in hospital. The bus was going to Mbombela in Mpumalanga for the governing party’s 112 anniversary celebration.

The deceased will be laid to rest on Saturday.

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed the party’s support ahead of the funeral.

“I expected that their funeral will be dignified and will signify our total support. I was saying to the leadership that their funeral must be dignified and must be befitting of the members of the African National Congress,” Ramaphosa adds.
