Reading Time: < 1 minute

The excitement of Christmas season is gaining momentum and so is the spirit of giving back.

A group of university students from different countries took time to refurbish a recreational park at Sunnyside in Pretoria, giving back to the under-privileged.

They touched lives through their volunteer services.

These university students clean cities and refurbish parks for children, now the park in Sunnyside features revamped swings, gliders and climbers.

One of the students that cleaned up the park says of their work:

“I feel so good that we are coming here and showing the love to all people around here, so they can enjoy their park. It’s all new again.”

Through their global organisation called ASEZ, students also help in victim relief projects.

Organiser, Thabo Mahlangu: “We also do disaster relief, so in areas that are affected by earthquakes or flooding, we go there as one of the first teams actually to assist, either with medical aid or in food supply.”

These students are solving problems first from their campuses then around the world to make a hopeful future for its citizens.
