SA weather services warn of tropical cyclone

The South African Weather Service has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in parts of the country for Saturday. The eastern half of the country can expect thunderstorms and showers.

Forecasters say moisture is being drawn down from the tropics, and is not linked to Tropical Cyclone Batsirai.

On Friday afternoon, meteorologists said Batsirai was expected to continue on a south-western path towards central Madagascar, where it is expected to make landfall tomorrow.
