The trial of a man accused of masterminding the killing of his wife and her business partner will start on Monday in the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo.

Stanley Leshabane allegedly hired four hit men to kill the two who had travelled from Johannesburg to Polokwane for business dealings.

The businesswoman, Makoena Mabusela-Leshabane, and her friend, Tebogo Mphuti, were shot dead in October 2020 after they viewed business premises in Polokwane.

The murder trial against Leshabane and the alleged hit men has been scheduled for three weeks.

Several postponements have taken place due to various reasons, these include the changes of their legal representations, and the medical report on whether accused number one, Leshabane, is fit to stand trial or not.

The psychiatric report indicated that he is fit to stand trial.

Leshabane and the accused, Ndondo Buthelezi, John Zulu Bhekumuzi Phiyose, and Thembelani Dlamini have been in custody.
