The trial of the Enyobeni tavern owners in the Eastern Cape is back in court on Wednesday. Siyakhangela and Vuyokazi Ndevu are facing charges of selling alcohol to minors and allowing them inside the tavern.
In June last year, 21 underage patrons died at Enyobeni tavern in Scenery Park, in East London.
The state has called several witnesses which include a neighbour and other patrons who were at the establishment when the incident occurred.
The state is expected to call more witnesses to the stand.
Meanwhile, parents of the children who have died have since said they will go to any length for the prosecution of the tavern’s owners.
