A lack of funding and donations could lead to the collapse of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in the North West’s capital, Mahikeng.

The facility is struggling to make ends meet because sponsors had not honoured their commitments.

The SPCA takes in more than 1000 stray animals annually, costing them more than R30 000 per month.

The community has been called on to offer any kind of help.
