Source confirms Metsing has fled Lesotho

Sources close to the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) in Lesotho say former deputy prime minister Mothetjoa Metsing has fled the country.

Tensions have been building up in Lesotho since the recent arrest of the former defence minister, Tseliso Mokhosi, over the killing of a policeman in 2016.

His body was found earlier this month. The former minister has since been released.

It has been confirmed by his close allies that Metsing feared for his life, while the rumours have been spreading.

One police constable, who was killed after four police were interrogated, as investigations continued. Mokhosi says he was interrogated on Monday.

On Wednesday, he appeared before the High Court.
