Some commuters have opted to use alternative transport despite Metrobus resuming full operations in Johannesburg.
The bus company’s drivers returned to work this morning.
Metrobus workers embarked on a work stoppage on Wednesday afternoon, leaving a least 16 000 commuters stranded.
University of Johannesburg (UJ) student Patricia Muwirizwa who resides in Foresthill in the south of the city says she might use a taxi because she’s not sure if the bus to Auckland Park will take her to school from Gandhi Square.
Muwirizwa says, “I use 1849 to go home and I use this one that goes to UJ. I am going to school for registration, there’s no one here. I’m going to wait for a bus until it comes or go for a taxi but it is too far.”
