Sassa beneficiaries migrated from the old Sassa cards to the new gold cards that are compatible with the Post Office.

Sassa says there has been a marked improvement when it comes to grant payments in August, as compared to compared to July.

More than 700 thousand beneficiaries experienced problems in withdrawing their money in July.

Sassa acting CEO Abraham Mahlangu says about three million beneficiaries have already migrated from the old Sassa cards to the new gold cards that are compatible with the post office.

“We are glad to report to you that the payment of social grants for the month of August has commenced, and this cycle has seen a huge improvement compared to the last cycle in which there were technology challenges that made our  beneficiaries not to receive their grants on time.”

Mahlangu says they are now grateful to report that the matter has been resolved and they are looking forward to providing the beneficiaries with improved service that they deserve.
