Deputy President David Mabuza will address the main Human Rights Day events in Sharpeville in the Vaal later on Wednesday morning.

The 2018 national Human Rights Day coincides with the centenary celebration of former president Nelson Mandela.

It is therefore commemorated under the theme ‘The year of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela’ promoting and deepening a human rights culture across society.

In his speech, the Deputy President is expected to urge South Africans to use the Human Right Month to reflect on Madiba’s dreams and aspirations of the respect of basic human rights.

Mabuza will also call on South Africans to work together to build a more inclusive economy to ensure equal economic rights.
