ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa says the ANC wants to take back control of the Nelson Mandela Metro. Ramaphosa encouraged residents of the Wells Estate where he is campaigning  in Gqeberha to go out in numbers to  vote as ANC wants to win the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

Addressing residents of Wells Estate in the town during the second leg of his ANC’s election campaign, Ramaphosa said premier Oscar Mabuyane would soon put plans in place to ensure the improvement of the delivery basic services to the area which has a high rate of youth unemployment.

He says they lost the Nelson Mandela Metro  in the last local government elections with a small margin.

Ramaphosa further mentioned that the ANC wants to return good governance into the  Nelson Mandela  Bay Metro, saying there  are potholes, some areas are dirty and  others have no electricity and people are required to  pay connection fees.

He also added that the Eastern Cape government is working hard to open its economy at Coega in Gqeberha.

He says he will return to the province soon to open firms and the Industrial Development Zone.

 

On Saturday, he concluded his visit to the Buffalo City Municipality.

Ramaphosa addresses ANC supporters in Gqeberha:

Ramaphosa also congratulated the province for administering the highest number of vaccinations in the country. He has encouraged residents of the province to continue to adhere to COVID-19 health protocols.

Ramaphosa will address the people of the Bay starting in Wells Estate and then move Ward 50 and then Jacksonville.
