The High Court in Pretoria will rule on Thursday whether the alleged confessions and indictments of accused number 1 and 2 in the main trial are admissible.

Evidence in the trial-within-a-trial has been going on since October last year, with several police officers, including the lead investigator, taking the stand.

All have denied that Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi were assaulted.

Sibiya and Ntanzi took the stand in their own defence maintaining that they never confessed to alleged involvement in the soccer star’s 2014 murder.

Closing arguments were halted last week after Sibiya wanted his case reopened.

Sibiya also terminated the services of his instructing attorney Sipho Ramosepele and is now being represented by defence counsel Thulani Mngomezulu.
