Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic says a win against Golden Arrows was well deserved. A goal from Zambian striker Justin Shonga was enough for Pirates to collect maximum points in a Absa Premiership game played at Durban’s Sugar Ray Xulu stadium on Saturday night.

The Buccaneers remain in contention for the league title with the win, after Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits both dropped points.

Sredojevic says he is not worried about his fellow league contenders.

“We are not looking at our neighbors, we look exclusively at ourselves. We don’t want to comment about our opponents.”

Meanwhile,  Sredojevic has applauded Luvuyo Memela’s contribution to the team since coming from a long lay-off because of injury.

The former Cape Town All Stars man was instrumental for Pirates last season. The Serbian born coach says Memela will be very crucial in the upcoming CAF Champions league games.

“Regarding Luvuyo Memela, we are happy to get him back. Luvuyo has been an integral part of the team.”
