A multiple rape and robbery suspect has been arrested at Letaba hospital in Tzaneen in Limpopo, where he was admitted for a gunshot wound.

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says the suspect allegedly advertised fake jobs on social media and attacked the female job seekers between July last year to August this year.

Mojapelo says some of the women travelled to Tzaneen from as far as Kwazulu-Natal and Lesotho for domestic and security jobs that the suspect advertised.

He says, “The police in Tzaneen have arrested a 34-year-old alleged serial rapist and robber. The suspect is positively linked to fourteen cases of rape and robbery that he allegedly committed at Tzaneen, Ritavi and Maake. The suspect reportedly made use of social media to lure his unsuspecting victims about non-existing job opportunities. He is expected to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate Court soon.”
