Mabuyane welcomes investment by various companies into Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has welcomed the investments by various companies into the province.

These were announced during the South African Investment Conference in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The biggest investment came from the vehicle manufacturer Ford of R16.4 billion.

The second biggest investment for the province was R920 million from the South African Breweries, which will be split between the Gqeberha based plant and the one in KwaZulu Natal.

Other investments from the automotive industry came from Africa Auto Group, Volkswagen and Wheel Assemblers, which pledged R550 million, R350 million and R180 million respectively.

Pharmaceutical Company Aspen will invest R500 million while Chinese Solar Products manufacturer company, Seraphim, announced an investment of more than R430 million.
