Load shedding continues to have a devastating effect on small businesses in South Africa. Eskom is this weekend implementing Stage 2 until 5am on Monday morning.
In the Northern Cape, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry says businesses in the province are severely affected.
Chamber CEO, Sharon Steyn says business owners are struggling to keep their doors open.
“It is a major crisis and somewhere businesses are going to have to sit down around the table and discuss it with Eskom. We are going to have to start looking at solar if this is the only way. We are going to have to go because businesses will not be able to survive this if it is going to carry on too long.”
Regretfully Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented from 14:00 on Friday until 05:00 on Saturday; thereafter Stage 2 loadshedding will continue until 05:00 on Monday pic.twitter.com/6LzmGJBcZ1
