The 14 lions will not be darted and moved from the premises.

Limpopo authorities have given assurances to people living in the vicinity of the Foskor mine in Phalaborwa that they are safe, despite the fact that a pride of lions made the area their home.

Officials earlier appeared to backtrack on reports that they would dart and relocate the predators. They now say the 14 lions will not be darted and moved from the premises.

Limpopo Economic Development and Tourism MEC, Thabo Mokone who visited the area says they have ensured that the lions, which he says have been living in the area for years, continue to live safely with humans.
