The parents of Leigh Matthews, Rob and Sharon, will be at the parole hearing of their daughter’s murderer Donovan Moodley at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre on Friday morning.
Moodley was convicted in 2005 of murder, kidnapping and extortion.
The Matthews’ will be accompanied by their legal team and supported by Women and Men Against Child Abuse.
The Department of Justice and Correctional Services reportedly granted the parole hearing because Moodley had served the required amount of time.

Moodley abducted Matthews at gunpoint, gagged her, put her in the boot of her car and demanded a ransom from her family.
After receiving R50 000 from Leigh’s father, he shot her with high-impact ammunition instead of letting her go.
Women and Men Against Child Abuse has urged the department’s parole board to seriously consider the heinous nature of the crimes committed by Moodley.
They say Moodley is a cold-blooded murderer who 17 years later has shown no remorse or rehabilitation.
