Learners at Buchule Technical High School in Mdantsane, near East London, are struggling to cope with the deaths of two of their counterparts, who were shot dead while preparing for their final examinations on Sunday evening.

It has been alleged that a gunman stormed into the house and fired shots at four teenagers, killing three who were studying.

Two of the victims are from the same family, while the third is a learner from Mzamomhle High School.

The fourth learner is in hospital in a critical condition.

A grade 11 learner at Buchule Technical High School, Mangaliso Rhewu, says they are still in shock.

“I’m not feeling well at all. This is so hard for me. I don’t know what to say. It’s a lot. I just don’t know how to cope.”
