Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen says he is willing to stay on at the Chilli Boyz if there are changes at the club’s structures.

Larsen, who joined the Port Elizabeth side four months ago, has also revealed that he has already told Chilli Boyz chairperson Siviwe ‘‘Chippa’’ Mpengesi that he must change a few things at the club.

Larsen was the fourth coach at the Chilli Boyz this past season after Joel Masutha, Eric Tinkler and Dan Malesela, who were all fired by Mpengesi.

The Chilli Boyz flirted with relegation for most of the past season and the club’s supporters only sighed with relief on the last day of the Absa Premiership programme after Larsen led the club to 12th spot on the log following a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in Port Elizabeth last Saturday.

Larsen has urged the Chilli Boyz hierarchy to stop selling their best players if they want the team to compete next season. And Larsen is confident that Chilli Boyz bosses are going to listen to him as he plans to build a quality side for the 2019/2020 season.

The former Lamontville Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United and Bloemfontien Celtic coach says he could not teach the players his philosophy as the Chilli Boyz were fighting relegation.

And he believes that preseason will offer him a chance to teach his players about his philosophy.

Meanwhile, the former Orlando Pirates and Manning Rangers midfielders hopes to have a good run with the Chilli Boyz next season.
