KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Lucky Mkhwanazi has launched a manhunt for the suspects, who robbed, kidnapped, and killed two police officers in KwaMbonambi in southern KwaZulu-Natal.

It is alleged that two armed suspects barged into a house and robbed the police officers of their service pistols and cell phones, before forcing Warrant Officer Nkosinathi Ntinga and his wife inside a vehicle.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says Ntinga was found dead at the Umsunduze River bank with multiple gunshot wounds.

Netshiunda says his vehicle was found abandoned in a sugarcane field nearby.

“Police are appealing to anyone who might have information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police or call our crime stop number, 08600 10111. Alternatively, they can tip off the police anonymously through the My SAPS App.”
