Kwaito star Mjokes described as a pioneer

The memorial service of the late Kwaito star Emmanuel Mjokes Matsane was held at baseline in Newtown Johannesburg on Thursday.

Mjokes as he was popularly known was remembered as a peace-loving family man who was versatile in his craft.

Mtsane perished in a car accident in Soweto at the weekend while returning from a performance.

A pioneer of the locally-bred kwaito music and his passion was to entertain masses during his musical career.

Singer Mjokes was not only remembered for being among those who inspired the culture of kwaito but for being a peacemaker.

Fellow group members of Trompies say that Mjokes was a multi-talented artist and a unifier.

Meanwhile Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema spoke on the importance of ensuring that Matsane’s children receive his royalties.

Matsane’s funeral service will take place in Soweto on Saturday morning. He will buried at the Westpark cemetery.
