Kruger National Park aims to boost its tourism numbers and also cater for those living with disabilities as the mobility impaired will find it easier to tour the area.

The park has launched game drive vehicles which can accommodate the mobility challenged. The Muslim community will also be able to attend to their religious needs.

Kruger National Park is famous for the big five but a game drive can be complicated for those living with disabilities.

Game drive vehicles have wheelchair access.

Kruger National Park’s Lucy Nhlapo says, “We have people with disabilities and they can’t enjoy the park and all activities, this vehicle will be able to accommodate their needs and enjoy the park like anyone else.”

The park also built two Muslim prayer centres in Skukuza and Lower Sabie.

This is a Muslim sacred space, where both men and women can come and pray every time they visit the Kruger National Park another way in which the park is becoming inclusive to all religions.

Kruger National Park General Mnager, Philip Glenn says, “As a tourism sector we are doing all thess things to provide responsible tourism and we must be leaders in this.”

With the holiday season upon us the park is expecting a high number of domestic and international tourists, and for those who found it difficult exploring the park, the new initiatives will make it a lot easier.
