Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has condemned the racist attitude of Kulula.com flight passenger, Alocha Moodley.

Moodley admitted to using the k-word in a text to reportedly describe the captain Menzi Mvelase and two other passengers. The foundation wants action to be taken against Moodley.

Ahmed Kathrada Foundation spokesperson, Zaakirah Vadi says there is no excuse for racism.

“From the Foundation we are tired of hearing the excuses of ‘Yes, I’m racist’ or ‘but I used the k-word but’. We think people need to admit their racism and they should commit to change their perception and going for diversity anti-racism training. We should commend Kulula for the action. They had taken to remove her from the flight. And we also want to commend the passengers for highlighting the issue and not letting to rest as it was for taking her message up. She has sent out on the text she was writing at the time.”
