Johannesburg Water says the water supply systems that were affected by power outages at Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station are recovering.
Many areas and suburbs in Johannesburg are still without water for several days now.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala says while pumping at Eikenhof has resumed, it will take a few days for the system to recover.
Shabalala says, “Johannesburg Water has noted improvements in areas like Soweto, our commando system which is Brixton, Crosby and Hursthill and some parts of Roodepoort. As an intervention, Johannesburg Water has 27 roaming water tankers that have been deployed to all the affected areas for emergency water supply.”
